Back in 2004, I was honored to be interviewed by Terry Gross, the host of the NPR show Fresh Air. My quirky life story of “police detective-turned-pet detective” and the release of my memoir PET TRACKER (which I now serialize each week here in my Substack) attracted some national attention.
Today, I was honored to be interviewed for a popular show that will air tomorrow. This time, the interview was with host Robin Young from the NPR show Here & Now. It was obvious during the interview that Robin is a BIG animal lover! Her show (co hosted by Scott Tong) airs through the Boston, MA station WBUR and reaches over 500 stations with 5 to 6 million listeners!
What amazes me is that did NOTHING to promote myself. No marketing, no hiring a publicist, no sending emails to try and get media attention. God is just blessing me with renewed interest in both my lost pet recovery work and also my BHAG (big hairy audacious goal) of building a large pet memorial site akin to the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial in DC and the 9-11 Memorial in NYC. Those of us who deeply love animals NEED a place to work through our grief and celebrate our departed companion animals. It is a crazy dream, I know, but I firmly believe that with God, ALL things are possible!
My interview is scheduled to air tomorrow, June 11th (2025) sometime between 12pm to 2pm ET. If you miss it, you can always find the recording afterwards on the Here & Now website.
Wow. That is impressive. Not once but twice. Persistence and passion. I'll try to listen live or recording.
I'll never forget the day I heard you on NPR Kat! I was transfixed and late to work sitting in the parking lot to hear your full story that day over 20 years ago. You've changed my life and made me into a full time lost cat finder. Thank you for your legacy and years of pioneering work!
