This week, I was honored to be a guest on WBUR, Boston’s NPR station, on the program Here & Now with Robin Young. It was a delightful interview where Robin asked me questions about the availability of K9 pet trackers, the difference between tracking lost cats vs. lost dogs, and the effectiveness of using the “5 + 5 + 55 MPH Rule” neon posters to reunite lost dogs and cats with their families (instead of white, 8 1/2” X 11” flyers which passersby typically do not notice).

One of my favorite parts of this interview was how the producers took and aired audio from one of our K9 Pet Tracker’s “walk-up finds” (where the search dog tracked down and physically found a missing dog). In that clip, you hear the K9 handler Balynda Brown (with Bravo K911), say, “Guys, that’s what you call a walk-up find! Day 9, no sightings, and Preacher led us right to him! Good boy, Preacher, you did it!”
I thought you might want to see one of my favorite photos of Preacher. Here he is dock diving and showing that he can almost “walk on water” when it comes to lost pet recovery work!

In addition to the Preacher story, Here & Now included a link to one of my recent Substack stories of another successful recovery story. In that one, the finders were a team of two gals, Laura Green and Melissa Felts from Return 2 Home Lost Pet Resources, and their bloodhound named Truman, who tracked down a lost dog named Oreo who was involved in a terrible rollover car crash, bolted into the woods, and was lost. If you haven’t seen the video of Truman and Oreo, you can watch it here. It is such a heartwarming reunion!
