If I wasn’t a full time nurse, I’d probably branch out for lost pet services as well.
Thank you for sharing that Karl! One big difference between SAR (search-and-rescue) and MAR (missing animal response) is the demand for services. When I worked SAR cases, I was only called out like once or twice a month. Is that your experience with your dog?
With MAR, you'd likely work several cases a week. That means you'd likely need to quit your job as a nurse, which isn't practical for everyone. But maybe keep MAR in mind as a retirement plan! Best of luck with your GSD!
That’s something I thought of. My long term plan for retirement is to continue working with dogs (training, walking, online coaching) and adding in MAR. I have to wait for 16 years though😁

No problem because the issue of missing dogs and cats will still be a problem that you can help solve! :)
I’ll have a lot more experience by then as well!
